Thanksgiving Favorites

The 105 days of October are finally coming to an end. As October 31 comes and goes this week, so does the ghost and vampire decor. November usually marks a few weeks of reprieve from the hustle and bustle that comes with this time of year, and in today’s post, I am sharing all the items currently in my Amazon cart as I think about getting ready for next month.

Thanksgiving Feels for the Home & Family

Outdoor Decor

This past year, my husband made it very clear to me that I was no longer allowed to spend money on living plants. After seven years of habitually buying beautiful plants every few months and watching them slowly disintegrate before our eyes, he put his foot down. My Amazon cart this season reflects my acceptance that my husband is right.

I have bought from Nearly Natural before and found them great quality. The other items give all the basic bitch vibes I am going for this fall. Check them out.

Indoor Decor

About a year ago, I found Myquillyn Smith of The Cozy Minimalist (linked to her book below). She is fantastic. For seasonal decorating, Smith recommends decorating through the lens of your five senses - smell, touch, hear, taste, and see. This approach has changed the way I approach my home during each season. As a family who lives in the deep south, the change of seasons is sometimes an artificial change within our home as it continues to be a blistering 90 degrees at the end of October. So, starting on November 1, when I transition out of Halloween and prepare for Thanksgiving, here are a few items I will buy.

traditions & activities

I have definitely fallen into the trap of shoving holiday traditions down the throats of my family to the point that no one ever wanted to do that thing ever again. So, in the spirit of being intentional about creating rhythms for my family to get excited about but not trying to check off an arbitrary list of activities, I try and do 2 or 3 each season. One easy tradition I started a few years ago was investing in a few beautiful and timeless season children's books that the kiddos can keep returning to each year. Below are the items in my Amazon cart as I prepare for November.
